Volleyball swept by Friends

Box Score Wichita, Kan. – After dropping a narrow first set, the Bulldogs could not recover against Friends University in a sweep (25-22, 25-19, 25-16) in Wichita on Wednesday night.

McPherson took it to the Falcons in set one, recording 13 kills on 35 attempts with only five errors, but could not overcome the Friends attack dropping set one 25-22. The Falcons would continue their dominate play into the second and third set knocking off the Bulldogs, 25-19 and 25-16.

On offense, the Bulldogs recorded 33 kills on 102 attempts, including 19 errors. Bulldog freshman Natalie Boss had a high match of 10 kills, while sophomore Amy Neufeld finished with eight.

On defense, Brooke Wedel finished the contest with 14 kills, the only McPherson player in double digits.

McPherson (4-7 KCAC, 5-14) will be back in action on the road at Tabor College Oct. 20. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Hillsboro.
