Box Score Hillsboro, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team struggled offensively as it fell to KCAC leader Tabor College on Tuesday. The Bulldogs lost in three sets 25-17, 25-14, 22-25.
The Bulldogs struggled hitting, connecting on only .042 (23 kills, 19 errors, on 96 attempts) of their shots. Freshman Natalie Boss was McPherson’s top performer as she led the team with six kills on 16 attempts.
Freshman Kellie Watts also performed well for McPherson, tallying 12 assists and six digs. Sophomore Brooke Wedel totaled a match-high 10 digs as the Bulldogs held a 43-42 edge in digs.
McPherson found themselves in a hole after dropping the first two sets, 17-25 and 14-25. The Bulldogs came back to challenge Tabor in set three, but could not overcome the powerful Blue Jay offense. McPherson dropped set three and the match 22-25.
The loss drops McPherson to 5-15 (4-8 KCAC), while improving the Blue Jays’ record to 14-7 (11-1 KCAC).
McPherson returns home Thursday, Oct. 22, when they face Bethany College. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
