Box Score Ottawa, Kan. – The Bulldogs took advantage of a late Brave penalty to defeat Ottawa University 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Peoples Bank field.

McPherson’s Lance Dick scored the game winning goal in the 83rd minute on a penalty kick. Midfielder Alex Toro blasted a shot towards the upper corner, but an Ottawa defender used his arm to stop the shot resulting in the McPherson penalty kick.

Ottawa broke the scoreless tie in the 72nd minute when Zech King fed midfield Philip Nguyen for a goal, 1-0.
McPherson evened the score ten minutes later as Brent Mulford flicked a ball to Sam Tucker who buried the ball into the back of the net for his second goal of the season. Mulford’s assist is his second of the season.
Sophomore Blake Jett started in net for the Bulldogs, tallying three saves and allowing one goal to record his seventh win of the season. Jett leads the KCAC and ranks 11th in the NAIA in goals against per game, allowing 0.54 goals per game.
