Box Score McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team struggled to find their rhythm, as they were swept by Sterling College on Saturday night 18-25, 18-25, 15-25.
The Bulldogs struggled offensively, hitting on .095, including 29 kills, 18 errors, on 116 attempts. Freshmen Natalie Boss and Callie McCaffrey were the top performers for the Bulldogs. Boss led the team with nine kills, while McCaffrey ended the match with eight, respectively.
Sophomore libero Brooke Wedel also performed well for McPherson, recording a team high 11 digs.
McPherson found themselves in a hole after hitting under .100 in both set one and two, dropping the first two sets 18-25. In set three, McPherson improved their hitting percent, but was unable to overcome the powerful Warrior attack. The Bulldogs dropped set three and the match, 15-25.
The loss drops McPherson to 7-17 (6-10 KCAC), while the Warriors improve to 17-9 (12-4 KCAC).
McPherson returns to action Tuesday night, when they travel to Southwestern College. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
