Box Score 4 The Lady Bulldogs finished their tournament in Hastings, Nebraska this weekend losing all four games, moving their record to 2-6.
“These are probably some of the toughest matches we've had all year,” said McPherson head coach Susan Barton. “Even though we did not win a match, I feel like we gained some much needed experience.”
Match One - McPherson vs. College of Saint Mary
Game one on Saturday matched the Bulldogs with the College of Saint Mary. MC was unable to break at tough CSM losing 8-25, 19-25 and 19-25. Senior Kiley Loesch led the team with ten kills, two errors, and 31 attempts. Freshman Lindsey Linnebur led the bulldogs in assists with nine followed closely by junior Kelley Green who had seven. Other notables include sophomore Brooke Wedel leading the Bulldogs with 14 digs.
Match Two – McPherson vs. Hastings College
The Lady Bulldogs finished the day by playing Hastings College. The Bulldogs lost in three games 19-25, 13-25 and 14-25. Loesch again led the Bulldogs with ten kills, with three errors, on 38 attempts. Linnebur and Green tied with nine assists, while Brooke Wedel again led the Bulldogs with 16 digs.
Match Three – McPherson vs. Peru State University
Bulldogs began Sunday losing to Peru State, 3-0 (12-25, 16-25, 15-25). Kiley Loesch, with a team high 14 kills, led McPherson College’s offense. Green led the Bulldogs with 14 assists while Linnebur was right behind with 11.
Match Four – McPherson vs. Dakota State University
The Bulldogs finished the tournament with a tough match-up against Dakota State University. The Bulldogs fell in three 25-12, 25-21 and 25-20. Loesch, for the eight game in a row, led MC with 16 kills. Green led in assists with 15, followed by Linnebur with 14. Wedel led the Bulldogs on defense with 12 digs and 29 serve receives.
