Box Score Seward, Neb. – The Bulldogs soccer team began the 2009 campaign with a 1-1 tie against Concordia University at Bulldog Stadium in Seward ,Neb.
“We felt our team as a whole, especially the defensive third, did a good job containing the Concordia attack,” said McPherson head coach Robert Talley.
The match remained tie until an Amanda Aragon goal in the 80th minute gave MC the lead late, but Concordia battled back with a goal less than two minutes later to tie the game at one. Neither team could score the rest of the way.
“We learned three very important lessons tonight. We must play until the whistle blows, the game is 90 minutes long and we need to capitalize on every scoring opportunity that presents itself.”
