Wichita, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team saw its five-match win streak snapped Thursday night at Friends University as the Falcons posted a 3-0 sweep of the Bulldogs.

“We played a very good team tonight,” said McPherson head coach Susan Barton. “Despite that fact, we did not play to our full potential and did not execute our game plan effectively. We have two matches at home on Saturday and it’s important that we get ourselves back on track.”

With the loss, McPherson falls to 9-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Falcons improve to 12-8 overall and a KCAC leading 6-0 in league action.

The first two sets were a dogfight, but Friends pulled out victories by the counts of 25-19 and 25-22. McPherson continued to battle in the third set, but struggled with a match-high 10 errors as Friends recorded the 25-13 decision to complete the sweep.

McPherson returns to action Saturday when it hosts Kansas Wesleyan University and Central Christian College at the McPherson Triangular. The Bulldogs first match is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. against KWU, before playing Central Christian at 5:00 p.m.
