Box Score McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College women’s soccer team dropped a defensive struggle to KCAC opponent Ottawa University, 1-0, Saturday evening at McPherson Stadium.
With the loss, McPherson drops to 4-6-1 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play, while the Lady Braves improve to 8-2-2 overall and a perfect 3-0-0 in the KCAC.
In the first half, Ottawa’s Amanda Just scored what turned out to be the game-winner in the 23rd minute off a pass from Amanda Talbott. Late in the period, McPherson would have its best opportunity of the night to tie, but failed to finish.
The Ottawa defense proved too much for the Bulldogs to overcome in the second half giving OU the 1-0 win.
Overall, the Lady Braves outshot the Bulldogs 19-2 in the contest and held a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks.
McPherson now looks to bounce back in their midweek matchup with Bethel College. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. at McPherson Stadium.
