Box Score McPherson, Kan. - The Bulldogs lost a tough fight with conference opponent Ottawa University in five sets, 25-21, 17-25, 25-14, 23-25, 12-15, Wednesday night at the McPherson Sport Center.
The loss puts the Bulldogs at 12-10 overall and 5-6 in the KCAC making them fifth in conference, while the Braves move to 12-6 overall and 9-3 in conference placing them third.
Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) led the Bulldog’s offense with 15 kills on 28 attempts, with only one error giving her a .500 kill percentage. Helping Hiebert out was Callie McCaffrey (Vona, Colo.) with nine kills, on 21 attempts, with four errors giving her a .238 kill percentage.
Defensively, Brooke Wedel (Moundridge, Kan.) held the back row with 31 digs, Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) added nine and Kelley Green (Brighton, Colo.) with ended the night with eight.
At the net, the Bulldogs held strong with eight blocks. Amy Neufeld (Hillsboro, Kan.) led McPherson with three while McCaffrey and Hiebert added two apiece.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday at the Bacone Triangular, where they will face off against Southwestern Assemblies of God University and Bacone College in Muskogee, Okla.
