Bulldogs finish 2-0 in McPherson Triangular with sweep of Central

McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson volleyball team failed to drop a set in the McPherson Triangular, as the Bulldogs swept Central Christian, 25-11, 25-16, 25-15, late Saturday afternoon at the McPherson Sport Center.

With the win, McPherson improves to 11-7 on the season and 4-3 in KCAC action, while the Tigers drop to 1-16 on the year.

In a match were 16 different Bulldogs saw action, junior hitter Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) led the team with nine kills and a .600 hit percentage, while freshman Lindsy Walker (Moundridge, Kan.) chipped in a career-high seven kills in the effort. Junior setter Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) posted 18 assists in just two sets of action.

The Bulldogs easily defeated the Tigers in set one, 25-11, before going on to complete the sweep with 25-16 and 25-15 wins over the next two frames. MC had its best offensive showing in the second set, as the Bulldogs hit a match-high .389, including 10 kills on 18 attempts.

McPherson returns to KCAC action on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Tabor College. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. in Hillsboro, Kan.
