Lindsborg, Kan. – The McPherson College men’s soccer team dropped a road KCAC contest to Bethany College, 1-0, Saturday afternoon in Lindsborg, Kan.

With the defeat, McPherson falls to 7-7-1 on the season and 4-3-0 in conference play, while the Swedes improve to 5-9-1 overall and 4-3-0 in KCAC action.

In the first half, Bethany’s Scott Jumeaux netted what would prove to be the game winner in the 38th minute off a pass from Gildardo Navarro.

The Bulldogs peppered the Swede goal with 17 shots, including two shots on goal, but failed to notch the game-tying goal. Senior Calin Strong (Manhattan, Kan.) led the team with six shots, while Brent Mulford (Topeka, Kan.) added four.

McPherson outshot Bethany 17-14, while holding a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 27, when they host Southwestern College. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. at McPherson Stadium.
