McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team dropped a tough, 3-0, decision against Friends University Wednesday evening at the McPherson Sport Center.
“Friends is a very good team,” said McPherson head coach Susan Barton. “I feel like we were in each set, but let them separate from us toward the end of the frame. We are going to push hard to finish conference strong and have some momentum going into the conference tournament.”
The loss drops McPherson to 16-12 overall and 8-7 in league play, while the Falcons improve to 25-8 overall and 15-0 in KCAC matches.
The Bulldogs dropped the match by the scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-20.
Sophomore Natalie Boss (Waterville, Kan.) posted a team-high nine kills, while junior Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) tallied eight. Junior setter Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) led the team with 30 assists and 15 digs in the effort.
As a team, McPherson finished the night with a .097 hitting percentage and 6.0 team blocks.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, Oct. 30 at the KWU Triangular. McPherson’s first match will be at 1:00 p.m. against Kansas Wesleyan University.
