Box Score Hillsboro, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team dropped a four set (28-30, 11-25, 25-19, 22-25) match to Tabor College Tuesday evening in Hillsboro, Kan.
“Tonight was not our best night,” said McPherson coach Susan Barton. “We did not execute the way we needed to be successful. Tabor is a solid team, and we learned some things from the match that we need to work on.”
The loss drops McPherson to 11-8 overall and 4-4 in KCAC play, while Tabor improves to 8-10 overall and 6-3 in the KCAC.
McPherson dropped a nail biter of a first set 28-30, including a match high 14 team kills, but struggled in the second frame, 11-25. The Bulldogs swung the momentum back in their favor with a 25-19 third set win, however, the Blue Jay attack proved too strong and sealed the win in set four with a 25-22 decision.
Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) posted 28 assists, eight digs and eight kills in the effort. Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.)registered a team-high 12 kills, while Natalie Boss (Waterville, Kan.) recorded six. Callie McCaffrey (Vona, Colo.) led all Bulldog hitters with a .467 hitting percentage.
McPherson returns to action Thursday when it hosts Bethany College at 7:00 p.m.
