Ottawa, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team dropped a four-set (19-25, 21-25, 25-23, 23-25) match to Ottawa University Tuesday evening at Wilson Field House.

With the loss, McPherson drops to 4-6 overall and 0-2 in conference action, while Ottawa improves to 5-3 and 2-0.

Junior Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) led the Bulldog offense with 14 kills on 27 attempts for a .444 hitting percentage, while sophomore Natalie Boss (Waterville, Kan.) matched a season-high with 14 kills in the effort. Senior Kelley Green (Brighton, Colo.) led McPherson with 13 digs and junior Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) picked up a team-high 35 assists.

Ottawa jumped out to an early two set lead after downing McPherson 25-19 and 25-21 in the first two frames. The Bulldogs battled back in set three to cut the OU two set lead to one. However, the Braves proved able to rebound in set four after initially falling behind by five points. Ottawa won the fourth set 25-23.

McPherson returns to the court Thursday evening at the University of Saint Mary. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. in Leavenworth, Kan.
