McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team made short work of visiting Central Christian College Saturday, winning its second straight match, 3-0.

The Bulldogs won by the counts of 25-11, 25-15, 25-16 to improve to 6-6 overall, while remaining 1-2 in conference action. The loss drops Central to 1-9.

McPherson set the tone early with a 25-11 decision in the first set. Junior hitter Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) hammered home seven of the Bulldogs 16 team kills in the first set. MC’s offense hit .640 for the set.

MC’s offense continued its efficient attack in the second set with a 25-15 win. The Bulldogs tallied 15 kills and a .407 hit percentage in the frame. McPherson buried the Tigers, 25-16, in the third and final set to take the match 3-0.

Junior setter Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) recorded a team-high 29 assists, while Hiebert hammered home 15 kills on 21 attempts for a .714 hit percentage. Junior libero Brooke Wedel (Moundridge, Kan.) chipped in 12 digs in the effort.

McPherson returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 33 when they host Sterling College for their four KCAC match of the season. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. inside the McPherson Sport Center.
