Box Score Manhattan, Kan. – Junior setter Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) had 27 assists, while hitter Amy Neufeld (Hillsboro, Kan.) recorded a season-high nine kills, enabling the McPherson College volleyball team to record its second consecutive sweep, 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-21), against Manhattan Christian College Monday evening.
McPherson opened the match with a 25-21 victory in set one before wins of 25-19 and 25-21 put the match to rest quickly. The win improves McPherson to 7-6 on the season, while remaining 1-2 in conference play.
Neufeld led seven different hitters who recorded at least one kill against the Crusaders. Sophomore Natalie Boss (Waterville, Kan.) and junior Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) had relatively quite nights with eight kills apiece in the effort. Schloo dished out 27 of the Bulldogs 31 assists in the match, and at the net, Jessica Arpin (Salina, Kan.) had four blocks, including a pair of solo stops.
As a team, the Bulldogs posted a 0.190 hit percentage, including a match-best 0.308 in the second set. The team recorded eight team blocks.
McPherson returns to KCAC action Wednesday, at home, against Sterling College. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. inside the Sport Center.
