McPherson rolled through set two, 25-20, behind a match best 15 kills and .361 hitting percentage. Boss had the hot hand in frame two with five kills.

Despite the momentum of a two set lead, the Bulldogs failed to close the door as the Thresher got hot in frame three. BC’s defense forced MC into a match-high eight hitting errors and -.088 hitting percentage. Bethel easily took set three 25-13.

The Threshers tied the match at two games apiece with a 25-22 win in frame four. BC never trailed in the set.

Again the Threshers proved to be too much for the Bulldogs, winning the decisive fifth set 15-13 and match 3-2. Trailing 7-10, McPherson battled back to take a 12-10 lead, but failed to shut the door as Bethel won five of the next six points.

McPherson hits the road this weekend for the Hastings College Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10-11. The Bulldogs will open play on Friday against Concordia University (Neb.) at 1:00 p.m. CST.
