McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team will hit the road this week for a Wednesday night matchup with KCAC leading Kansas Wesleyan University. First serve between the Bulldogs and the Coyotes is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CST) and the match will be live streamed at

The Bulldogs enter the week winners of three straight following a 3-1 (25-22, 25-17, 24-26, 25-14) Monday night at Southwestern College. The victory improved McPherson to 8-12 overall and 5-5 in conference action. Freshman
Tori Phelan (Rangely, Colo.) posted a career-high 12 kills, while senior
Amy Neufeld (Hillsboro, Kan.) added 11 and junior

Phelan has been a steady performer off the bench for the Bulldogs with an eight kill per match average over the last three. She currently ranks fifth on the team with a 1.3 kills per set average. Senior
Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) leads the squad with 196 kills (2.8 per set) on the year.
Kansas Wesleyan has won five straight, including a pair of sweeps at the University of Saint Mary and Bethany College. KWU has dropped only six sets in KCAC matches en route to a 16-7 overall record and 10-0 mark in league play. In their first meeting, the Coyotes defeated McPherson, 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-20).
After Kansas Wesleyan, McPherson has a week off before returning home for a match against defending KCAC champion Friends University. The Bulldogs fell to the Falcons 3-0 earlier this season. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CST).

The Coyotes have won 16-of-18 since opening the season 0-5. KWU’s losses during the stretch came against Graceland (Iowa) and at St. Ambrose (Iowa).

Breanne Schultz leads the team and ranks fourth nationally at 1.41 blocks per set. As a team, KWU are eighth nationally in blocks per set (2.77) and ninth in total blocks (218.5)

Leah Keller leads the team with 198 kills and a .291 hitting percentage, while Kelsey Boyles is second on the squad with 165 kills.

Defensively, Pauline Yang has a team-high 321 digs, averaging 4.1 digs per set.

At the net, the Coyotes have four players averaging at least 0.9 blocks per set, including Schultz (1.4), Boyles (1.3), Alexis Bateman (1.0) and Keller (0.9)
