McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team welcomes second place Friends University to the McPherson Sport Center on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m., in a match that will be carried live on the KCAC Broadcast Network. A link to the event is available at Macbulldogs.com.
McPherson enters the contests with an 8-13 overall record and 5-6 mark in KCAC action following a 3-1 (19-25, 11-25, 27-25, 22-25) loss to KCAC leading Kansas Wesleyan University. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs have won four of their last six, including wins against University of Saint Mary, Ottawa University and Southwestern College.
Senior middle hitter
Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) continues to be a force at the net for the Bulldogs, as she ranks seventh nationally with 1.36 blocks per set and 27
th in the NAIA with 99 total blocks. Additionally, Hiebert leads the team with 205 total kills (2.81 per set) in 21 matches.
Freshman
Tori Phelan (Rangely, Colo.) has also had a hot hand of late with 26 kills, including a career-high 12 at Southwestern College, in her last three matches. On the season, Phelan averages 1.29 kills per set and a .102 attacking percentage.
Friends comes to McPherson with a 20-8 overall record and an eight-match win streak. The Falcons defeated the Bulldogs, 3-0, in their first meeting at the Garvey Center on Sept. 15. FU’s last loss came on Oct. 4 at Bethel College, 3-2.
Following Friends, the Bulldogs return to the court on Oct. 20 when they host Tabor College at 7 p.m. The Blue Jays are currently 12-9 overall and 8-3 in the league.

Carrie Kahn leads the Falcons with 2.7 kills per set, while Ciara Lawson ranks second at 2.4 kills per set and Courtney McCune is third with 2.3 kills per set.

Defensively, Erin Cooper has a team-high 4.4 digs per set average.

At setter, Tasha Miller is averaging 5.7 assists per set with Karsen Wohler second at 3.6.
