McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team fell to Friends University in three sets (25-16, 25-19, 25-14) Tuesday evening at the McPherson College Sport Center.
The loss drops the Bulldogs to 8-14 overall and 5-7 in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play, while the Falcons improve to 21-8 and 9-3 overall in the league.
McPherson was led by seniors
Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) and
Amy Neufeld (Hillsboro, Kan.), who tallied nine kills each. Additionally, Hiebert hit a team-high .467 and had two block assists. Senior
Brooke Wedel (Moundridge, Kan.) led the team with 15 digs and junior setter
Hannah Hoffman (Bendena, Kan.) dished out 15 assists.
As a team, the Bulldogs hit .067 with 30 kills on 104 attempts and had five team blocks.
Courtney McCune paced the Falcons with 13 kills, while Carrie Kahn added 11 in the effort. As a team, FU hit .324, including a match-high .615 in the third set.
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, Oct. 20 when they host Tabor College. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CST).
