McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team fell to Tabor College, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-19), Thursday night inside the McPherson Sport Center.
The loss drops McPherson to 8-15 overall and 5-8 in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play, while the Blue Jays improve to 14-9 on the season, including a 10-3 mark in conference.
Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) paced the Bulldogs with eight kills, while
Tori Phelan (Rangely, Colo.) added seven and
Amy Neufeld (Hillsboro, Kan.) chipped in five, respectively.
Hannah Hoffman (Bendena, Kan.) dished a team-high 14 assists and tied
Brooke Wedel (Moundridge, Kan.) for the team lead in digs with 11 each.
As a team, the Bulldogs ended the contest with a .175 attacking percentage with 30 kills on 103 attempts and 12 errors. At the net, MC posted 11 total team blocks, including six block assists and one solo block from Hiebert.
Tina Frick led Tabor with 16 kills, while Jessie Vogt added 13 in the effort. Hollister Wolf dished out 41 of TC’s 44 assists on the evening.
McPherson returns to action on Monday when they travel to Bethany College. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CST)
