The Bulldog defense held the Blue Jay offense to 295 total yards, including just 75 yards through the air. Additionally, McPherson forced three Tabor turnovers, all of which set up Bulldog scores.

McPherson’s offense took its first possession of the game after the MC defense forced a Tabor fumble on just the second play of the game. Snodgrass wasted no time, linking up with Skinner for a seven-yard touchdown to give the Bulldogs an early 7-0 lead.

After trading punts, the Bulldogs took advantage of another short field due to another Tabor fumble. McPherson, who opened the series on the Blue Jay 43 yard line, march 43 yards in four plays, capped by Skinners second receiving score of the afternoon. From there, McPherson scored on its next two possessions, including Skinner’s third touchdown reception and a one-yard run by junior wide receiver Julius Record (Detroit, Mich.), to take a 28-0 lead into the half.

The two sides battled to a stalemate in the third, before Tabor cut the deficit to 28-6 following a 13-yard touchdown reception by Simon McKee on a pass from Duray Gardner at the 11:48 mark of the fourth quarter. TC added a second score six minutes later to make it 28-12, but it proved to be too little too late as the MC offense ran out the clock on its next possession.

Sophomore defensive back Phillip Wilson (Long Beach, Calif.) led the Bulldog defense with 11 tackles and two tackles for loss, while senior linebacker J.L. Gomez (Prosper, Texas) added 10 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in the effort.
