Volleyball Drops KCAC Finale at Sterling

The McPherson College volleyball team dropped a hard fought match at Sterling College on Wednesday night as the Bulldogs fell, 3-2 (20-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 15-17), in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season finale for both teams.
 
With the loss, McPherson falls to 11-17 on the season, including an 8-10 mark in conference play, while the Warriors improve to 19-13 overall and 11-7 in KCAC action.
 
Senior middle hitter Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) led the Bulldogs with 14 kills, a .419 hitting percentage and seven blocks, while junior outside hitter Natalie Boss (Waterville, Kan.) added 12 kills, two blocks and three digs in the effort. Junior setter Hannah Hoffman (Bendena, Kan.) posted her second straight double-double with 25 assists and 10 digs, while senior setter Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) completed the regular season portion of her career with 10 assists and seven digs.
 
Defensively, senior libero Brooke Wedel (Moundridge, Kan.) continued to pad her all-time digs lead with a match-high 18 to eclipse the 1,300 career digs mark. She currently rests with 1,314 digs in three seasons at McPherson.
 
Overall, McPherson ended the contest with a .138 hitting percentage with 49 kills on 159 total attempts, while posting 10 total team blocks.
 
Sara Steria paced the Warrior offense with 15 kills, while Ciara Ramos and Caitlin Magee joined Steria in double-figures with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
 
McPherson returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 5 when they host the play-in round of the KCAC Postseason Tournament. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. (CT) and will be live streamed via the KCAC Broadcast Network.
