McPherson, Kan. – The No. 7 seeded McPherson College volleyball team travels to Hillsboro to face off against No. 2 seed Tabor College in the quarterfinal round of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. (CT). Live video of the contest will be available through the KCAC Broadcast Network.
The Bulldogs (12-17, 8-10 KCAC) earned their spot in the quarterfinals following a 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-18) sweep of No. 10 seed Bethany College in the play-in round. Against the Swedes, McPherson recorded 46 kills on a .269 attack percentage, including a match-high .341 attack percentage in the first set. Junior outside hitter
Natalie Boss (Waterville, Kan.) posted a three-set season-best 12 kills, while senior middle hitter
Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) recorded 10 kills and a team leading seven blocks.
McPherson won only one of seven sets played against the Blue Jays this season, including a 3-0 loss in their last match against TC on Oct. 20. The Bulldogs last victory against Tabor came on Nov. 1, 2010. Tabor claimed the two sides’ quarterfinal round matchup last season, 3-1 (25-16, 21-25, 19-25, 25-27).
Tabor comes into the match riding a four game win streak, including a sweep of Friends University on Oct. 26. The Blue Jays have dropped only one set during the aforementioned streak.
The winner of the McPherson-Tabor match advances to the semifinal round to play either Friends University or Bethel College depending on the results of their quarterfinal contest.

The Blue Jays wrapped up the regular season with an 18-10 overall record and 14-4 mark in conference play to earn the No. 2 seed in the KCAC Championship.

Tabor is currently on a four-match win streak and has won eight of their last nine. TC’s lone loss during the stretch came at Kansas Wesleyan (3-0) on Oct. 24.

Overall, Tabor owns a .234 team attack percentage, which ranked second in the conference behind Friends University’s .253 team attack percentage.

The Blue Jays ended the regular season leading the league in kills (12.70 per set) and assists (11.57 per set)

Senior middle blocker Tina Frick ended the regular season as the conference’s leader in points per set (4.47), hitting percentage (.347) and kills (3.89).

At setter, sophomore Hollister Wolf ranks 16th nationally with a 10.57 assists per game average. Additionally, she ranks 39th in the NAIA in total assists (1,057).

Defensively, Hollie Tabor leads the team with a 3.8 digs per set average, while Wolf rests in second with a 3.4 digs per set average.

At the net, Frick leads the team with 89 total blocks.
