McPherson, Kan. – All 12 Bulldogs that saw action scored, as the McPherson College men’s basketball team cruised to a 100-47 victory against Manhattan Christian College Wednesday evening at the McPherson Sport Center.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 5-0 on the season, while the Crusaders fall to 1-2 overall.
Senior forward
Chris Crawford (McPherson, Kan.) led McPherson with 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including a perfect 2-for-2 from 3-point range and 2-for-2 from the foul line. Joining Crawford in double figures was senior guard
Aaron Frazier (McPherson, Kan.) with 20 points and senior forward
Jordan Crawford (McPherson, Kan.) with 10. Additionally, Frazier added six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals.
McPherson took control early, jumping out to a 12-2 lead in the first 4:40 of the game, as Chris Crawford scored eight quick points, including a pair of 3-pointers. The Bulldogs were in control from that point forward, building as much as a 24-point lead before Crusader guard Jack Mitchell hit a pair of free throws to make it a 43-21 game at halftime.
MC shot 52.9 percent (18-of-34) from the field, while forcing 16 Manhattan Christian turnovers.
The Bulldogs, who continued to dominate in the second period, put an exclamation point on the game when sophomore forward
D'onte Woods (Houston, Texas) converted an alley-oop off a pass from sophomore guard
Samson Shivers (Houston, Texas). The score extended the MC advantage to 50 points.
On the evening, McPherson shot 52.6 percent (40-of-76) from the floor, while holding a 51-34 edge in rebounds. Defensively, MC forced 27 Crusader turnovers.
Jack Mitchell led Manhattan with 14 points, while Josh Camacho had 10.
McPherson returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 12 when they host Hastings College. Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. (CT) inside the McPherson Sport Center.
