McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team begins the 2011 season this weekend in Point Lookout, Mo., where the Bulldogs will play at the Mazzio’s Volleyball Tournament. McPherson will play four matches over two days at the event.
Tournament action kicks off on Friday as the Bulldogs play back-to-back matches against College of the Ozarks (Mo.) and John Brown University (Ark.). McPherson’s first match against Ozarks is slated for 3 p.m. (CST), before taking on John Brown at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, McPherson starts play against William Penn University (Iowa) at 9 a.m. then comes back at 11 a.m. for a matchup with Southern Nazarene University (Okla.).
The Bulldogs meet their each of their opponents for the first time in recent history. McPherson will face off against College of the Ozarks for a second time the following weekend at the Hastings College Quality Inn Classic.
Looking past this weekend, McPherson returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 7, for its home opener against conference rival Southwestern College. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the McPherson Sport Center.
