McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team continues its run through Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference at Bethel College on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m.
The Bulldogs (5-11, 2-4 KCAC) have won three of their last four, including a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-18) sweep of Bethany College on Tuesday at the McPherson Sport Center. Defensively, McPherson notched a season-best 12.0 team blocks, while the offense clicked on all cylinders with a .310 hitting percentage. Senior middle hitter
Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.) led the team with 11 kills, three solo blocks and eight block assists.
On the season, Hiebert averages a team-leading 2.85 kills per set, while fellow senior middle hitter
Amy Neufeld (Hillsboro, Kan.) averages 2.42. Senior libero
Brooke Wedel (Moundridge, Kan.) paces MC with 279 digs, while senior setter
Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) has dished out 268 assists.
The Bulldogs finished 0-2 against the Threshers last season.
Bethel enters the matchup with a 6-8 overall record and 3-2 mark in league play. In their last match, Bethel fell 3-2 (22-25, 25-11, 23-25, 25-17, 13-15) against Sterling College.
McPherson’s next match after Bethel is Saturday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. against Ottawa University.

Bethel is 6-8 on the year and 3-2 in KCAC play. They are currently riding a two match losing streak following losses against Southern Nazarene University (Okla.) (3-0) and Sterling College (3-2).

Outside hitter Jordan Gray leads the Threshers in kills per set at 2.24, while middle hitter Lindsey Chandler is a close second with a 1.98 average. Additionally, Chandler leads the team with 51.0 total blocks (1.04 blocks per set).

At setter, Alyssa Schrag leads the team with 268 (5.47 assists per set) total assist, including a season-high 30 in BC’s last match against Sterling. She is second on the team with a 2.92 digs per set average.

Defensively, Addison Wolf has a team-high 4.88 digs per set average.

As a team, Bethel is ranked third in the KCAC in service aces with a 1.45 per set average.
