Jordan Crawford (McPherson, Kan.) posted his fifth double-double of the season, while four other Bulldogs joined him in double figures, as the No. 6 McPherson College men’s basketball team stormed past Kansas Wesleyan University, 79-52, Thursday night at the McPherson College Sport Center.
 
The victory raises McPherson to 17-2 on the season and 6-1 in Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference play, while the Coyotes fall to 2-16 overall and 0-7 in conference.
 
Crawford posted 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Aaron Frazier (McPherson, Kan.) paced the Bulldog offense with 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting. Other double figure scorers for McPherson included Samson Shivers (Houston, Texas) with 11 points, Chris Crawford (McPherson, Kan.) with 10 points and Kasey Miller (Derby, Kan.) with 10 points.
 
As a team, McPherson finished the night shooting 46.3 percent from the field, while outrebounding Kansas Wesleyan 51-32. The defense held the Coyotes to 36.8 percent shooting, forced 14 turnovers and allowed a season-low 52 points, marking the third time this season MC has held its opponent under 60 points.
 
Following a closely contested first half that saw three ties and six lead changes, McPherson flexed its muscles during the opening 10 minutes of the second half, posting a 24-8 run that gave MC a 60-39 advantage with 10:26 remaining in the contest.
 
Kansas Wesleyan was able to cut the lead to 19, but proved unable to fend off the Bulldog offense, as McPherson outscored KWU, 43-23, in the second half en route to the 27-point victory.
 
The Coyotes were led in scoring by Brock Borovetz, who scored 11 points off the bench for Kansas Wesleyan. He also added a team-high two steals in the effort.
 
McPherson returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 14, when the Bulldogs host Ottawa University. Tipoff between the Bulldogs and Braves is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the McPherson Sport Center.
