McPherson, Kan. –
Guard Aaron Frazier (McPherson, Kan.) posted his second 20-point performance in the last three games to lead the No. 5 McPherson College men’s basketball team to a dominant, 91-67, victory over York College (Neb.) Monday night at the McPherson Sport Center. The contest wraps up the non-conference portion of the schedule for the Bulldogs.

With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 15-1 on the season and extend their win streak to five games, while York falls to 6-8 overall.

McPherson had five individuals in double figures with Frazier leading the team with 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including a perfect 2-for-2 effort from 3-point range. In addition to scoring, he chipped in nine rebounds, three assists and one steal, respectively. Guard Samson Shivers (Houston, Texas) and forward Mason Hewitt (Norwich, Kan.) added 16 points each, while forward Jordan Crawford (McPherson, Kan.) had 14 points and twin brother Chris Crawford (McPherson, Kan.) chipped in 10 points. The Bulldogs overcame 11 first half turnovers by shooting 62.1 percent (18-of-29) from the floor, including a pair of 3-pointers from Frazier and Shivers to take a 45-40 lead into the half.

Despite the deficit, York came out the aggressor to open the second period, cutting the MC lead to 47-45 at the 19:16 mark after a Desmond Strickland 3-pointer and Thadd Varmall put-back. However, McPherson outscored the Panthers 7-4 over the next three minutes before holding York without a field goal for over nine minutes. The drought opened the door for the Bulldogs offense that capped the stretch with back-to-back baskets by Frazier to take a 78-54 lead with 6:07 remaining.

The two sides would trade baskets the remainder of the contest as the Bulldogs earned the 26-point victory.

McPherson ended the game shooting 50.7 percent (34-of-67) from the field and 71.4 percent (20-of-28) from the free throw line. The Bulldogs dominated the boards, outrebounding the Panthers 57-31.
