Hillsboro, Kan. – Four goals were the difference in the Wednesday evening match between McPherson College and the Lady Blue Jays of Tabor College.  With the loss, MC drops to seventh place in the conference standings at 2-3 with four games to go; the Lady Bulldogs are 4-7-2 for the season.

On a very blustery evening, McPherson battled the wind and survived the first half after only giving up one goal to the Lady Jays and hoped the south-bound breeze would give them the advantage in the second period.  This was not the case for the Lady Bulldogs as Tabor put their second, third and fourth goals within seven minutes of each other beginning in the 71st minute.  Despite playing with only three defenders for the final 15 minutes of the game, McPherson wasn’t able to score once, losing 0-4.

Eight shots were put up by MC with four of them going on target.  Gabriela Navarro (Wichita, Kan.) led the team in both shots and shots on goal with four and two, respectively.  Cheyna Buchman (McPherson, Kan.) and Nikae Easterling (Colorado Springs, Colo.) were the other two Bulldogs to post shots on frame.

Four goals were allowed by goalkeeper Molly Whitwell who tallied three saves in her 90 minutes of action.

McPherson won’t get long to linger on this loss as they have one day of rest before their next match which is to be held in Sterling, Kansas against the Lady Warriors of Sterling College.  That competition is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (CT) on October 19th.
