MC Women’s Soccer Drops Close One to Braves 0-1

Ottawa, Kan. – The Lady Bulldog soccer squad traveled up to Ottawa, Kansas for a matchup against the KCAC second place Lady Braves and lost a tight match 0-1.  The defeat brings McPherson’s record to 2-6-2 for the year and 0-2 in conference.
 
For 66 minutes, the game was a 0-0 tie but Ottawa’s Destinee Evans changed that with her goal that was assisted by Annie Kessler.  The Lady Bulldogs played a tough match, going toe-to-toe with one of the KCAC elite but in the end, couldn’t get a ball past OU’s keeper.
 
Gabriela Navarro (Wichita, Kan.) put three shots on target in the loss to lead McPherson in both total shots and shots on goal.  Alexandria Paparella (Torrance, Calif.) and Stephanie Cornell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) each attempted one shot that was on target.
 
Molly Whitwell (Plano, Texas), goalkeeper for MC, posted six saves and one goal allowed in the 90 minute contest.
 
The Lady Bulldogs return home for their next match which is scheduled for Wednesday, October 10 at 5:00 p.m. (CT) against the Friends University Lady Falcons at McPherson Stadium.
