The victory for the Coyotes puts them at 11-5 in the KCAC with a 16-11 overall record.  For McPherson, they now drop to .500 in both their conference and overall records, sitting at 8-8 and 13-13 respectively.  The Bulldogs are still seated sixth in the KCAC despite the loss.

The Bulldogs once again put up a lot of shots from behind the arc, shooting 22 and were able to convert on nine of them.  MC went 7-of-14 in the second half after only making 25 percent of their first half threes (2-of-8).  27 of the McPherson’s total points can be attributed to their three-pointers.

Taylor Puttergill's (Tryon, Neb.) late scoring makes her McPherson’s leading scorer for the game, she had 13 on 5-of-13 shooting.  Brittany Pittas (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) went 4-of-7 from beyond the arc for 12 points.  Kt Porter (Wichita, Kan.) added 11 on her 50 percent shooting night, going 4-of-8.

Kansas Wesleyan put up 18 more shots than their season average, launching the ball at the basket a whopping 73 times.  They were able to convert on 29 of those attempts for a shooting percentage of 39.7.  In the first half alone, KWU shot the ball 39 times, 17 of which were three-point attempts.  They ended the night shooting 30.4 percent from behind the arc after going 2-of-17 in the first half.

Four Coyotes scored in the double figures Saturday, making up 56 of Kansas Wesleyan’s points.  Montric Santee, Christian Cassity and Vanessa Kresin each earned 15 points.  Shelby Babcock went 3-of-6 from three-point land to round out the list, she scored 11.  Forward Stephanie Frost had eight points to go with her 10 rebounds.

McPherson, as a team, was outscored 32-13 in bench points by KWU; 30 of which came from two of the 15 point scorers.  MC also gave up three times as many points in the paint, 36, as they earned themselves, 12.  The Lady Bulldogs had 20 turnovers, more than twice the amount of Kansas Wesleyan who only had eight.

Kansas Wesleyan University had a positive assist-turnover ratio for the game.  To go with their eight turnovers, the Coyotes had 19 assists.  KWU was also able to produce 20 points off of McPherson’s miscues.  The Coyotes made it to the free-throw line twice as many times as the Bulldogs but were only able to convert 50 percent of those tries, going 9-of-18.

McPherson will stay on the road next week as they travel up to Ottawa to face the Braves on Thursday, Feb. 16th.  They are scheduled to play at 6 p.m. (CT)
