Frazier and J. Crawford Receive All-American Honors

McPherson, Kan. – The basketball program at McPherson College now has four more awards to add to their total for the 2011-12 season.  Aaron Frazier (McPherson, Kan.) earned a spot on the All-America First Team, becoming the third player in MC history to do so; Jordan Crawford (McPherson, Kan.) was named All-American Honorable Mention.  Seniors Crawford and Frazier were also named to the NAIA All-Tournament team for their performances in the NAIA-II National Championship tournament. 

On the season, Frazier put in a team high 18.11 points per contest on 50 percent shooting, going 220-of-440 from the field.  He shot 42.1 percent from three-point range, making 51 of his 121 attempts.  Frazier led the KCAC in scoring per game, total scoring (652), steals (71), and blocks (42).  He was ranked seventh in the NAIA-II in total scoring, twelfth in total steals, twenty-third in total blocks, and thirty-first in points per game.  Frazier now has 1336 points for his career at McPherson placing him ninth on the all-time scoring list. 

Crawford this season averaged 10.61 points per game, hitting 122-of-266 in his 31 games played.  He grabbed 9.1 boards each time out with his highest of 16 coming against Tabor in December.  Crawford led the KCAC in total rebounds (282), defensive rebounds per game (6.39), and double-doubles (10).  In the NAIA, he rated eleventh in rebounds per game, thirteenth in defensive rebounds per game, fourteenth in total rebounds, and thirty-third in offensive rebounds per game (2.71).

During the NAIA tournament, Frazier averaged 19.25 points per game, leading the Bulldogs in scoring, three out of their four games.  He was able to grab 6.25 rebounds and 2.75 assists during each of those contests.  Crawford averaged 12.75 points and was only four boards away from averaging a double-double, grabbing nine each outing. 

McPherson finished their season 33-4 after losing to No. 1 Northwood of Florida in the Final Four of the NAIA Division II National Basketball tournament on March 12th.
