Against Tabor, it was an ugly first period for both squads as MC had plenty of turnovers and the Lady Jays were forcing shots; Taber ended the half making just 13.5% of their field goals.  TC got up by as many as eight points but couldn’t hang on to their advantage as the Bulldogs clawed their way back into things, taking the lead with 1:12 left in the first half.  Mac would keep a one-point favor through the halftime buzzer, leading 21-20.

The second period began with buckets being traded for the first few minutes with McPherson holding on to a slim lead.  The Blue Jays were not about to be beaten on their home court and began laying the hammer down on MC.  The Bulldogs wouldn’t go away, keeping their deficit close until one final push by Tabor put the game to bed; during their final run, TC hit four-straight three point baskets and controlled the clock, minimizing Mac’s chances of catching up.  When the clock hit 0:00, MC found themselves on the wrong side of a 74-55 score line.

McPherson ended the game shooting a 32.8 field goal percentage, making 21-of-64 from the floor with 6-of-15 being three balls; 70% of the team’s 10 attempts from the stripe made it through the net.  Despite an incredible second half shooting percentage, TC ended the game hitting 35.3% of their field goals; 10-of-17 three pointers and 16-of-21 free throws were bucketed by the Blue Jays.  47 rebounds, 15 on the offensive end, were tallied by Tabor while Mac pulled down 42 total boards.  MC recorded eight assists and 16 turnovers; the Lady Jays logged 14 assists and only eight turnovers.

Kramer led a trio of Bulldogs that made it over 10 points with 14 on her 5-of-7 night from the field and 2-of-2 from the stripe.  Brown was next on the list with 12 points coming from 4-of-9 field goals and 3-of-6 free throws.  Cheyenne Eisenhour scored seven first half points and ended with 10, making 50% of her eight field goal attempts.  Beth Cooper came off the bench to lead the squad in rebounds, grabbing seven; she also had a team-high two assist to go along with her two points

The Lady Bulldogs are back on a Thursday-Saturday schedule next week; they will face the reeling Southwestern College Moundbuilders on January 31st at 6:00 p.m. (CT).
