Men's Soccer | 10/10/2013 10:53:00 PM

Box Score

McPherson, Kan. – After 90 minutes of play, the Coyotes of KWU came out victorious 1-0 over MC in a foul-happy contest; 34 total fouls were called in the game, 17 apiece, along with eight yellow cards.  The Bulldogs move to 4-6 for the season and 1-1 in the KCAC.

It was a very even start between the KCAC elites as both teams took care of the ball in the opening half, and throughout the competition.  Kansas Wesleyan was able to break through and put in the lone goal of the game on a corner kick in the 12th minute.

Mac continued to battle in the second half, putting up 13 total shots with nine coming in the final period.  Each attempt down the stretch was thwarted by the Coyotes, including a chance coming with just three seconds left on the clock.  In the end, Kansas Wesleyan held on for their 1-0 win.

Kevin Aka (Paris, France) and Oscar Cortez (Dallas, Texas) each took three shots towards the goal, leading McPherson; Aka found the keeper once while Cortez saw a pair of his chances saved by KWU.  Danny Calleja (Oceanside, Calif.) took two shots, putting one between the posts.

Senior Taylor Parrott (Wichita, Kan.) logs the loss for MC as he tallied four saves in goal.

It's a short rest for McPherson as they must now prepare for Ottawa University who is set to play in Mac on October 12th; the 3:30 p.m. (CT) kickoff is to be played on the grass field at McPherson College.
