Box Score

McPherson, Kan. – It was a neck-and-neck battle between the Lady Bulldogs and Friends University on Wednesday but a goal in the 56th minute by the Lady Falcons is the difference as Mac lost 1-0.  McPherson is now 2-9-1 overall and 1-3 against KCAC foes.

MC only took two shots in the opening period; both were on target but didn't get by Friends' keeper.  The Lady Falcons put five towards the goal in the first 45, having three saved by Mac's Caitlyn Blagrave (Rio Rancho, N.M.)

The two squads went into halftime all squared at 0-0.

Friends saw their second shot attempt of the second half make its way to the back of the net, going up 1-0 with 34 minutes to play.  McPherson then bombarded the Falcon's goalie putting four-straight shots on frame within a six-minute window but unfortunately all were saved.

The Lady 'Dogs continued to push to the end but when the final whistle blew, there was still a zero on the visitor's side of the scoreboard.

McPherson took eight shots in the loss, putting seven on goal.  Gabriela Navarro (Wichita, Kan.) took five of the team's attempts with all but one troubling the keeper.  Both Stockton sisters, Amy and Willie,  had one shot on target, as did freshman Cydney Lewis.

Blagrave recorded four saves and the lone goal allowed from between the posts.

MC will take the long journey up to Leavenworth, Kansas for their next competition.  The 'Dogs play the University of Saint Mary on October 19th starting at 11:00 a.m. (CT)
