McPherson, Kan. – The Lady Bulldogs are experiencing surge of offense as they've scored five goals in the past two games, both ended in victories.  A three-goal effort against Tabor College on Wednesday night ended in a 3-1 win, moving MC to 4-9-1 for the season and 3-3 against KCAC schools.

"I'm proud of how our ladies played tonight on both sides of the ball," stated Coach Talley.  "Giving up an unfortunate penalty kick in the first half stunned us a bit so at halftime we told the ladies that if they continue to focus on the important aspects of the game, that the goals will come. They came out with intensity in the second half executing our game plan and getting the result we were striving for."

It took 24 minutes for the first goal of the match and it came on a penalty kick by Tabor, putting the Blue Jays ahead 1-0.  The teams shot a combined eight times, four apiece, in the game's first 45 and headed into halftime with TC leading 1-0.

McPherson came out of the break pushing for their first goal, taking multiple shots with a pair finding the keeper's hands.  In the 69th minute, the Lady Bulldogs' persistence paid off as Cydney Lewis (Ottawa, Kan.) scored, putting in a Jessica Dominguez (Colorado Springs, Colo.) assist; Lewis had been on the field less than two minutes when she slotted her first career goal.

With the jitters out of the way, MC continued to be aggressive and scored the game winner at the 72nd minute mark as Week 8 McPherson College Athlete of the Week Gabriela Navarro (Wichita, Kan.) scored her third goal of the season.  Allie Hicks (Bedford, Texas) added to the scoring with a penalty kick goal in the 83rd minute to supply some cushion; this was Hicks' first career goal.  The Lady Bulldogs ran out the remaining seven minutes to claim their 3-1 victory.

As a team, MC put as many shots on target as Tabor's total attempts; 12 shots went on frame for McPherson with five more missing the frame.  Navarro and Dominguez each took four cracks at goal with Dominguez putting all four between the pipes.  Senior Samantha Peterson (Olathe, Kan.) took three shots with one finding the goalie's gloves.

Mac keeper Caitlyn Blagrave (Rio Rancho, N.M.) allowed the one penalty kick goal and made two saves in her 90-minute win.

A home contest against 8-4-1 (3-3) Sterling College awaits the Lady 'Dogs as the Warriors travel to McPherson on October 26th; start time is 6:30 p.m. (CT) on the turf of McPherson Stadium.
