McPherson, Kan.  – Things did not go as planned for McPherson as they dropped two contests up in Salina at a triangular with Kansas Wesleyan and Bellevue University.  The two losses this weekend brings their record to 9-8 on the year.

"Our matches were pretty tough," said Coach Barton.  "With only a few minutes to go in practice Friday Phoebe hurt her foot.  The next morning it was determined that it is broken and she will be out for the season.  In Saturday's matches we just seemed out of sync all day.  We really struggled at putting the ball on the floor against KWU but actually did a better job of attacking against #15 Bellevue."

In their conference match with KWU, the Lady 'Dogs had a hard time putting the ball down as they tallied just 19 kills compared to the Coyotes' 39.  Hitting errors also plagued Mac as they had 27 of those in the three-set match.

Cortlyne Huppe (Florence, Colo.) had a team-high five kills in the loss while Rachel Phillips (Maize, Kan.) and Ashley Frankenbery (Benton, Kan.) each tallied nine assists.

In the Bellevue game, it was the Lady Bruins all the way; they took big leads early in each of the sets with the exception of the third but a 16-8 run to close it out put them way ahead.  Attacking errors were once again an issue for MC; they totaled 22 which equaled their kills for the match.  A season low 25 digs were recorded by the Bulldogs in the lopsided defeat.

Sophie Simon (McPherson, Kan.) put the ball down seven times for McPherson; she was quickly followed by Tori Phelan (Rangely, Colo.) who had six.  Phillips ended the match with 12 assists.  Maci Grimes (Andale, Kan.) recorded a team-high seven digs.
