McPherson, Kan. – Off to one of their best start in the history of the program, the McPherson College volleyball squad made short work of their three opponents in the Oklahoma Wesleyan Tournament played this past weekend, putting them at 4-0 for the season.

The Lady 'Dogs took down Mid-America Christian University 25-11, 25-15, 25-11 to get things going.  A couple hours later they trounced Dallas Christian College 25-11, 25-17, 25-21 while resting some of their starters.  On Saturday, Mac extended their win-streak to four games after beating Bacone College 26-24, 28-26, 17-25, 25-23.

"I am just so proud of our team and how we continue to emphasize the team aspect of the game," said head coach Susan Barton.  "We have a very talented team and when one player isn't having a great game, we have others that are able to step in and contribute."

For the weekend, Tori Phelan (Rangely, Colo.) led the team in kills with 31 over the 10 sets; she also tallied 17 digs and one block.  Rachel Phillips (Maize, Kan.) was the top setter, totaling 46; she dug the ball up 29 times over the three matches.  The digging queen was freshman Taylor Johnson (Valley Center, Kan.) as she logged 50 in her seven sets played; the freshman also ended the weekend with 16 kills and 1.5 blocks.

The first conference match is next on the table for McPherson as they travel to Sterling College on September 4th for a 7:00 p.m. (CT) match.
