Salina, Kan. – In the opening round of the 2014 KCAC Volleyball Tournament, the No. 8 McPherson College Bulldogs gave No. 1 Kansas Wesleyan University all they could handle but fell 3-1; MC was the lone lower seed to win a set in the quarterfinals of the tournament. The loss ends Mac's season at 11-19 overall and 4-14 in the conference.
Things started well enough for the Bulldogs as they took a quick lead on KWU and didn't look back as they stayed strong and won the opening set 25-16. The second was even throughout but a late surge by the Coyotes evened the match following a 25-22 win. Kansas Wesleyan came out with determination in the third set and coasted to a 25-14 win. In what turned into the final set, McPherson struggled during the opening points which allowed KWU to get up 19-10; the 'Dogs attempted a comeback but ran out of time, losing 25-16.
