MC Women Fall to York 82-58

McPherson, Kan. – In their first home game of the year, the Lady Bulldogs struggled from the field resulting in an 82-58 loss to York College.  Mac drops to 1-7 on the year.

The Lady 'Dogs scored first and controlled the game in the opening minutes.  Once the shots stopped falling for MC, York made their move; the Panthers pushed their lead to double figures with just over three minutes to play in the half.  Mac got the deficit to five a couple minutes later but a 6-0 run by YC gave them a 37-26 halftime lead.  The Bulldogs went an ugly 9-of-41 from the floor including 4-of-19 from deep; York was 15-of-35 in the first 20 minutes.

The second half was run by the Panthers as they maintained a double-digit lead.  Mac occasionally would inch towards that 10-point mark but never got it back into single figures.  YC hit a 20+ advantage by the seven-minute mark and coasted to their 24-point win.  McPherson heavily improved their shooting percentage in the second, making 37.5% (12-of-32) from the floor but just 2-of-9 from deep and 6-of-16 from the charity stripe.  York dropped in 15-of-37 with five coming from downtown.
