Box Score McPherson, Kan. – It was a 4-0 victory for Bulldog soccer against cross-town rival Central Christian on Wednesday.   MC moves to 2-2 on the year, shutting out their last two opponents.
"We looked good at times today and it was certainly nice to see us finish some of our opportunities," said Coach Quint.
Mac came out early and wiped out all of the Tigers' hope by halftime as they led 3-0.  Nick Torres got the party started in the 15th minute and was followed by Alex Ronneburg in the 22nd and then Oscar Cortez scored his first goal of 2014 seven minutes later.  The 'Dogs let off the gas a bit in the second half, still holding CCC scoreless but not scoring themselves until the 82nd minute as Tito Ruiz blasted one by the Central goalie.
The Bulldogs placed six of their 25 shots on frame, scoring four; this was a much improved shots-on-goal to goal ratio for MC.  Ronnburg took seven total shots with two making it between the pipes.  Torres took three shots and was followed by Cortez and Kevin Ndongo who had three apiece.  Both Cortez and Ronneburg tallied three points in the match as they each had a goal and an assist.
Aaron Parrott played the first 45 in goal, grabbing four saves.  Freshman Tanner Horton took goal keeping duties for the second half, recording two saves and helping preserve McPherson's shutout.
The 'Dogs are home this Saturday as they host Mount Marty College of South Dakota on the 13th; start time is 3:00 p.m. (CT)
