Box Score Hillsboro, Kan. - Sometimes it's just not meant to be, and unfortunately for Mac, Wednesday night's match against Tabor College was one of those times as the Lady Bulldogs could not close out the victory after leading 2-1; the Bluejays took the match with a 3-2 victory.
TC won the first set of the night 25-19 but McPherson responded with 25-23 and 26-24 wins to take their 2-1 advantage. Set four was all Tabor as they claimed a 25-14 win. In the final set, It was tight throughout but the Lady Jays squeaked one out, winning 15-11.
Three Lady 'Dogs posted double-digit kills with Cortlyne Huppe Leading the way with her 14; Taryn Lee posted 13 while Taylor Johnson recorded 11. Lee and Huppe combined for seven blocks. Johnson led the team in assists with 25 while Phoebe Barton logged 21. The libero, Emily Warner, had a career night with her 34 digs.
The Bulldogs, who are still looking for their first road win of the year travel to Salina on Saturday for a triangular with Kansas Wesleyan University and Bellevue University of Nebraska; their match with KWU is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. (CT) with the contest with the Lady Bruins to follow.
