Omaha, Neb. – A late goal in regulation by McPherson soccer pushed their match with the College of Saint Mary into overtime but just minutes into OT, the Flames scored off a deflection to earn the 2-1 win.  Mac drops to 2-5-1 on the year with one match left until the KCAC season.

In the opening period, CSM pushed forward and took 11 shots with four going between the pipes and being saved by McPherson goalie Tori Verdieck.  After a scoreless first half, the Flames were the first team to get on the scoreboard as they put one through in the 50th minute.  The Lady Bulldogs' Gabriela Navarro equalized things in the 71st to force extra time.  In a new rule overtime rule to 2014, the game now concludes when a "golden goal" is scored which came in the 91st minute from Saint Mary giving them a 2-1 victory.

Navarro took an incredible five shots for Mac with three going on frame, both being team highs.  As a team, the 'Dogs attempted eight shots and had three make it between the posts.

The senior Verdieck played the 90 minutes in goal, recording 10 saves and the two goals allowed.

The Bulldogs play again in Omaha, Nebraska tomorrow, this time it is against the Bruins of Bellevue University; start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (CT)
