Box Score McPherson, Kan. – Despite leading early in every set, the McPherson volleyball team fell 3-0 to Ottawa University on Friday. The Lady Bulldogs are now 6-8 on the year and 1-4 in the KCAC.
Mac got out quick in each of their three sets against the Braves but was unable to hold their leads, giving way to Ottawa. After trailing late in their sets, the Bulldogs pushed down the stretch but fell short all three times, losing 25-19, 25-22, and 25-20.
Three MC players had impressive days killing the ball as Taryn Lee and Cortlyne Huppe each logged 10 kills and Taylor Johnson added in nine more; Johnson also contributed a team-high 21 assists and had nine digs. Emily Warner and Maci Grimes combined for 37 digs with Warner leading the way with 23.
McPherson won't have long to rest as they travel to Lindsborg, Kansas for a 2:00 p.m. (CT) match tomorrow, September 26th as they take on the Bethany College Swedes. The junior varsity squads will play each other starting at 12:30 p.m.
