Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Mac Loses 5-0 Match to No. 2 Eagles

Bartlesville, Okla. – The No. 2 ranked team in the NAIA was as advertised on Wednesday night as they took down McPherson College 5-0.  The Bulldogs gave up four in the opening half but shored up their defense in the second, allowing just one.

OKWU got on the board early, scoring in the third minute.  Another goal by the Eagles brought the score to 2-0 less than 15 in.  McPherson had a couple of opportunities to get one or even two back but on a couple counter attacks but had their shots saved.  Oklahoma Wesleyan added two more goals before the break, leading 4-0.

In the second, MC started to play Bulldog soccer, passing the ball around and creating opportunities; unfortunately, one bad touch always seemed to end McPherson's chances.  The Eagles were held scoreless for most of the second half but in the final minutes managed to get one, bringing the final to 5-0.

The Bulldogs attempted nine shots in the match with three going on frame.  Nick Torres had a team-high four tries at goal with two on target.  Senior forward Kevin Ndongo took three shots, putting one on goal.

Aaron Parrott played the opening 45 minutes in the box for Mac while Arthur Lamparter finished the game in goal; Parrott tallied seven saves and Lamparter logged four.

McPherson will host Ottawa University on October 24th for Senior Day; start time is slated for 3:00 p.m. (CT) at The Kennel
