McPherson, Kan. – In their final home game of the year, the MC volleyball team lost a 3-0 match to the soon to be KCAC Regular Season Champion Ottawa University Braves on Wednesday night. OU was a very efficient team and the Bulldogs tallied too many errors to keep pace.
The opening set started off close but then a couple of runs by Ottawa pushed them to a lead that the Bulldogs could not catch, giving OU the set 25-16. In the second, the Braves roared out of the gate for a 7-1 advantage; the 'Dogs pulled within four midway through the set but a 10-1 run by Ottawa ended the set at 25-12. The third set was again all OU as McPherson couldn't get anything going; the Braves won the set 25-8.
Taryn Lee led MC in kills with eight on 20 tries; she also had a pair of block assists. Leia Seiler tallied 7 kills and was followed by fellow freshman Lexi Kite who had six.
Maci Schlehuber was the lone setter who hit double-digits in assists with her 14. Rhianna Smith logged nine in the three-set match.
Emily Warner tallied 14 digs in the contest. Jocelyn Cochran was next on the list with nine.
