McPherson, Kan. – Multiple three up, three down innings by both teams led to two of the quickest games of the year for McPherson College and Ottawa University; the Lady Braves took both from the Bulldogs 8-0, 8-0.
Game 1 – 8-0 Ottawa University
After a pair of scoreless innings, Ottawa put the first runs on the scoreboard as they saw three come across in the third. Two more in both the fourth and fifth along with a one-run sixth inning gave OU the 8-0 scoreline needed to force the run-rule to come into effect.
Emily Davis logged a double in the first and Samantha Harrity had a single in the sixth to make up Mac's lone hits. Amanda Darrow also got aboard one time as she was hit by a pitch in the second inning.
Amanda Connell threw for the first four innings for the 'Dogs, allowing seven earned runs on 11 hits and a pair of walks. Kaylee Lozier entered in the fifth to finish out the contest.
Game 2 – 8-0 Ottawa University
The Lady Braves started the game off with a bang as the first pitch was hit over the fence. MC settled down for the next couple innings but a four-run third put the Bulldogs in a 5-0 hole. OU scored three in the fifth to go ahead 8-0 and a scoreless bottom half of the inning for Mac ended the game.
Mariah Wedel and Darrow tallied the team's two hits, both being singles.
Lozier got the starting nod in the second contest and went two and two-thirds before exiting. Connell pitched for the final two and a third innings.
McPherson has one doubleheader left for 2015. The 'Dogs travel to the University of Saint Mary on April 22nd for a 2:00 p.m. (CT) DH with the Lady Spires.
