McPherson Loses One-Goal Match to Jimmies

Council Bluffs, Iowa – McPherson held the majority of possession on Sunday but one goal in the early moments of the contest proved to be the difference maker for Jamestown University as they took the match 1-0.

"Another tough loss for us today," said Coach Quint.  "We felt good about our performance.  We just weren't able to come away with the result we wanted.  Nobody is feeling sorry for us after our rough start, we have to dust ourselves off and keep working."

It was just 36 seconds into the match but a rebounded shot was put in by the Jimmies to give them the lone goal for the match.  The 'Dogs battled to get the equalizer for the next 44+ minutes but their four first half shots could not do the trick.

In the second, MC again was able to control the pace of the match but the Jamestown defense would not break.  The Bulldogs took eight shots in the final 45, placing two on target, but were held without a goal, losing the match 1-0.

Although the Bulldogs were able to control the pace of play they came away scoreless in the match.  The team took 12 shots and put four on target.  Omar Perez and Jesus Pescador each took three tries at goal to lead the team.

Aaron Parrott played the first half in the box for Mac and recorded two saves along with the loss.  Arthur Lamparter played the second half and recorded one save.

It's the "Battle for McPherson" when the Bulldogs are back in action as they square off against cross-town rivals Central Christian College on September 30th with the start time set for 8:00 p.m. (CT)
