The 18th ranked Bulldogs extended their current win streak to 12 games, and in the process set a new record for wins in a season, improving to 23-1 overall, and 7-0 in conference with a resounding 3-0 win over the Swedes.
Â
The first set was back and forth for a bit, with McPherson leading 22-21 late in the set. At the end though, they pulled away, winning the set 25-21. The Bulldogs handled Bethany with ease, and it showed in the second set. They pulled out to a quick7-2 lead, but Bethany tied it up at seven rather quickly. From that point on, the Bulldogs pulled ahead and didn't look back, going on a 18-3 run to win the set 25-10. McPherson closed the match with a 25-19 win in the third set.
Â
Jamie Siess (Jr. Tecumseh, Kan.) was once again the leader on defense, tallying 21 digs for McPherson.
Reven Bradbury (So. Highland Ranch, Col.) was second with eight digs. On the offensive side, the Bulldogs totaled 40 kills on 115 attempts, good for a .227 hitting percentage. Not great, but good enough to get the job done. They had two players record double digit kill totals, led by
Bree Wallace (Jr. Wichita, Kan.), with 12, and
Leia Seiler (Sr. Fort Lupton, Colo.), with 10. Â Overall, this was a great showing of prowess for the McPherson Volleyball team, as they continue to tear their way through the KCAC.
Â
"Bethany was a good match to come off fall break from", said MC head coach
Jessica Cleveland. "We were able to pull off a sweep with Wallace, Lane, and Siess stepping up for us. We served super aggressive which lead to in system volleyball on our side to give us the freedom to swing away and collect 7 aces, 4 from
Reven Bradbury."Â
